It all started with a conversation. Born from Houston’s vision to bring specialty coffee to North Minneapolis—a space where he had never truly felt seen or welcomed—The Get Down Coffee Co. was built to change that narrative. Houston White, founder of Houston White Ventures, and Dan Anderson, founder of Dogwood Coffee Co., spent time at the barbershop swapping stories and dreams and realizing that something soulful, dynamic and game-changing could come from their shared passion for coffee and community. 


Today, The Get Down Coffee Co is much more than a coffee company—it’s a movement rooted in cultural expression, economic empowerment, and anchored with exceptional coffee. Since opening our roasting facility in Northeast Minneapolis in 2022 and launching our first retail bar in Camdentown, North Minneapolis we've continued to grow our impact locally and nationally. From baristas to roasters, our squad is made up of incredible people who share a passion for connection, craft, and change. It all started with a conversation.
